Challenges
Our biggest challenges today are really twofold, the first being the regulatory side. There’s an increasing burden placed on our regulators, which costs us money, and then the indirect costs through the regulations through time and resources that we have to spend to meet up with their ever-increasing needs.
The other side is underwriting loans in today’s new reality -- being that companies that had historical financials that were very good may not be in the best role today, and companies who had very bad financials the past few years may actually be in a very good position today.
Experian's Consultative Approach
The reason I like partnering with Experian is because there are many companies out there that provide data and software, but Experian really focuses on solutions. They have people who understand my business and come up with solutions for my business based on our size, scope and complexity and not simply the solution that they are selling.
The Results
Our regulators have been extremely happy with our solutions that we implemented from Baker Hill and Experian. As a result, they granted us some waivers so that we can expand our program a little bit more. Last year, the programs they approved us for counted for over $ million for our bottom line which is a significant amount of money for our credit union.
This is the settlement website for the class action lawsuit known as White v. Members 1st Federal Credit Union, which was held in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania.
A $, Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit about APPSN Fees (“Overdraft Fees”) charged on certain Point of Sale transactions by Members 1st Federal Credit Union (“Members”) where there was a sufficient available balance at the time the transaction was authorized, but an insufficient available balance at the time the transaction was presented to Members for payment and posted to a member’s account. Members maintains that there was nothing wrong with the transaction processing practices it used and that it complied, at all times, with applicable laws and regulations and the terms of the account agreements with its members.
The Settlement Class was defined as former Members’ members who were charged qualifying Overdraft Fees between March 29, , and January 14, , and who had closed their accounts prior to January 14, Excluded from the Settlement Class were Members 1st Federal Credit Union, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and directors, all Settlement Class members who made a timely election to be excluded, and all judges assigned to this litigation and their immediate family members.
If you are a former member of Members 1st Federal Credit Union who was charged overdraft fees between March 29, , and January 14, , who closed your account prior to January 14, , you were eligible for benefits under a class action settlement.

Ratings and Reviews
No Alert.
After the new update you can’t get any alerts when your card is used. I turned on alert but it only works for the members1st credit card. You don’t get any alerts when you use your debit card. This will be very helpful if it gets fixed.
Edit : before the new update if I go to Walmart for example and buy some bread with my debit card I would get a notification showing that my card was used to buy bread at Walmart, the time and the amount they charged. Now it doesn’t send any notifications. I turned on the notifications I don’t know how many times but it won’t work. It only work on the Members1st Credit Card not on the Debit Card. That means if you only have the Debit Card you don’t get any notifications on when money is withdrawn from your account.
Belko, thank you for the additional detail. We have not had any other reports of card alerts not working on debit cards, this may be isolated to your profile. We suggest reaching out to Customer Service at so they can dig into your profile a little closer, thanks!
Not a useful update
Constantly getting a bad email alert that tells me to go to my profile page to confirm my email. I click continue and it goes to my profile where my only option is to actually change the email on my profile. The email on the account is correct so why not just have a confirmation button as opposed to making someone go through changing the address to the same email. Poor workflow and bad experience. Also placing your finger anywhere on the page to scroll the screen automatically selects and highlights the object where your thumb lands and will change highlights as you scroll. This is evident in messages and even account lists. This is completely contrary to iOS design principles. Honestly the entire thing looks and feels like a responsive webpage and not a native iOS app. It is little details like like this scrolling behavior that make it apparent someone is pushing some unified cross platform design that will end up making users on both major mobile platforms unhappy. It may look modern and fit new branding but as far as far as feeling like an actual mobile app this update fails.

Great App
So I don’t normally write reviews but when I saw the 2 star featured review I had to! I have been with a few different banks in my day and I must say Members first was the best one I ever decided to come to! The only bank I have found that truly I fee puts their members first! Oh and their App is the best I’ve ever had as well. The review stating they are not getting notifications must not be tech savvy enough or just have a crappy phone. I have had text alerts on my cards since before the update and guess what! Nothing has changed with the alert since the updates. I still get a text literally the moment they swipe my card or I swipe it stating how much it was swiped for and where and the time etc. This is a really user friendly great App don’t listen to the 2 star reviews!

Members 1st Federal Credit Union announced the opening Monday of its newest branch in Cumberland County.
It’s the 56th branch currently in business for the credit union, a press release said.
Located at Marketplace Way, Enola, the Valley Road branch will serve the credit union’s members from the same business plaza as Members 1st’s new corporate headquarters in Hampden Township, which is currently under construction.
This is a full-service branch, complete with a drive-thru, drive-up ATM, lobby service and dropbox, the release said.
