Long story short, huge mistakes in my youth and missed chances to grow because of ignorance caused me to not only make my life harder, but to also scare me away from thinking any bank in the world will even talk to me. I have finally opened a successful bank account with a local credit union, started looking at credit much more seriously and developed a huge drive to not only fix my credit, but to get approved for the best cards I NEVER DREAMED of getting approved for before, and all of this is thank to 1st source bank mishawaka One giving me a yes on my application.

Just like the fear of rejection from a person, running your credit and putting yourself out there is a hard thing to do, especially when you always see or hear a no, but a closed mouth doesn't get fed and eventually, someone will say yes and that someone's is Credit One. Don't listen to the talk about the fees (unless you genuinely cannot afford them), don't let the APR deter you (do everything you can to pay it off monthly!). This card started my growth, and in just shy of 2 years since I started I now have 4 other cards with limits exceeding 4k a piece, a used car loan, and a fico score on the verge of 710. You can do it, you can fix it, don't run from a future where you have options for help and rewards you've earned, it all starts somewhere.

I've only been doing business with Credit One for a few months but thus far, I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Their website is easy to navigate and their customer service is friendly. Yes, the rates are a bit high but for those of us rebuilding our credit, that's the nature of the beast. I appreciate them for taking a chance on me when no one else would. All-in-all, I think Credit One is a great bank to do business with if you're trying edd website for unemployment rebuild your credit or trying to establish credit.

This is my second card with Credit One. I see a lot of people bashing this bank. But they tell you everything just have to do your part and read it. Yes there a lot of fees, but they take risks on a lot of people and get shafted by a lot of people. They gave me a card when most wouldn't. I have had ZERO issues with activate credit one platinum card. I know when I make a payment, it will take a few days to show on my available credit. No problem. These cards were not designed to live off of. If you can be responsible, this is a good card to rebuild your credit. Every time I check my credit file, both Credit One and Capitol One show exceptional payment history. It is allowing me to slowly build back the credit I so foolishly ruined.

Let me start by saying I am very thankful to Credit One for giving me the chance with no deposit on my initial card. I have had their card since December of 2019 and love it! I started with a $300 limit and used it wisely paying all fees on time and as of now have about 11 cards as they just approved me for $1500 on another card! I see many people complaining about fees and such, they make this VERY clear when you apply for the card. If you can't afford the fees.don't get the card. There are cards out there with no fees like the Capital One Secured Visa which is what I started on with a $250 deposit over a year ago.

Since I have been with Credit One I have had absolutely ZERO issues with this company and will continue to use their services. I have approximately 14 accounts in total and have not missed one payment. This is because if I have an issue I don't wait until my closing date or due date to address it. I check all my accounts daily even if it is tedious, it's responsibility. If you can't afford $99 a year then you probably shouldn't have a credit card as the interest on a card adds to that and this is MADE CLEAR WHEN YOU APPLY. If you dont have the income, do what I have done, go work at Sonic and put in 50-60 hours a week.

These companies take a high risk as most people are NOT honest about their actual income then blame the card companies because they don't do the math BEFORE getting a card to see what the interest would be with a $300 card maxed with $99 in fees every year so let me try to help. So, if you have $300 and it's maxed with a 29% interest rate that's about $87, then you have the $99 fee every year. So that's actually $186. If you make the minimum payments of $30 it will take FOREVER to pay off that balance. So in total you would have $486 for that year if you maxed the card. In order to pay that card off in 12 months you would have to have a minimum payment of about $45 each month. These are rough numbers but it's to give a general idea.

In closing, Credit Cards are not YOUR MONEY. It is BORROWED money and should only be used sparingly, in an emergency, or to invest bringing in more than what your TOTAL credit line is. Literally, 11 cards and 3 merchant accounts all above 25% interest on a median income of $52k a year with about $1500 in car, truck, and insurance payments and never missed a payment. Stop blaming these companies for y'all's shady practices for not reading and doing the math BEFORE getting these cards. They make it VERY clear if you READ about the $7 design fee.

Well I was with Credit One Bank in the past. They gave me a chance. Then later on the account was closed due to hard times. But this year I applied and got a approval of $400. Then the next month was given a increase of $500 I am so grateful for this card.

Ok. So, I received a preapproved offer in the mail. Applied got approved. I honestly believed I was applying for a Capital One card. I even called Capital One and they kept telling me that they had no account with the info I provided. I became scared I’d had been scammed. So I called the number on the back of the card. Kept getting hung up on. I had let the card sit and didn’t use it. After a few weeks I thought I better activate the card and called the number on the back of the card only to find out I had a balance. A 109.00 balance. My bad. I didn’t read the fine print. Also, the due date was the day before I made the call. Total panic.

Finally I get someone on the phone that explains to me that I was charged 75 dollars for a yearly fee, and 6.75 for a monthly fee, and because all this was due the day before they charged me a 28 dollar late fee. All this before I even use a card I never activated. I became very upset. Nothing I could really do. I told the rep that I wanted to pay the bill in full and cancel the card. Oh No, dude started saying I shouldn’t do that as it would severely affect my credit. I tell him to cancel the activate credit one platinum card anyways. That I thought it was a legit Capital One Card, not a high risk card. I said cancel the card now!! Lesson learned, however this type of predatory leading should be illegal. They got me for 109.00 so far. Lesson learned. I’m hoping they canceled that card and that will be that. However, I’m Leary…

I have had my Credit One Platinum Card for a year now. I finally asked for a credit line increase.denied. I'm in the positive ten cents actually money wise, in good standing, also no payments due. I have been working so hard on my credit score and finally for once asked for a credit line increase with no intent on using the extra credit line increase just wanted to have it to boost my score and they refuse to help. Bad service.looking into better credit cards now that would be more helpful and beneficial.

I have had the card a few years. They kept adding some credit protection to the card and I a few times called to cancel it and they cancel for a few months and then sneak it back on. Today called to cancel card and the lady tried to save it but I said please personal banker westpac salary and she hung up. Called back and suddenly asked for my full social, date of birth, etc and said it’s already cancelled. Go on the app it’s still active. Call back to cancel again and they hung up on me again

This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever received from any bank. First they send me a pre-approved offer, I proceed to complete the application and it was approved, after several weeks I receive an email notifying that the card was sent and should arrive by October 24, today November 4 arrives a statement and the card never arrived. I contact the bank and they tell me that the card activate credit one platinum card an alert because they need to corroborate my address in which they ask me for a water or electricity bill, Social Security card and driver's license to be able to send the card.

However, however, they could not send a notification before about what happened but if they could send the account statement, I communicated twice to the bank and both times I was attended by the same incompetent employee, unable to help me. The most annoying thing was that I told him that I wanted to cancel the card and he proceeded to do so without looking for alternatives for the customer. And now what do I do with that bad inquiry on my credit report? Inept.

I have two cards with Credit One and for the most part it has been fine. In the last 14 months I have not received any credit increases. I am not sure as to why and yet I'm seeing on here people that have had their Credit One Card for a few months and getting $1500 increases. I never go over 10-15% each month and pay it off every month with the exception of a time or two. My one credit card that is two years old has never receieved a credit increase. I have called to see why and they don't give me a reason except I'll get a notice online and I called today to complain that I never get notices and activate credit one platinum card of a sudden I go on my account and there is my notices for not having an increase due to not meeting their criteria. I don't know what the criteria is and it's getting really frustrating. I've been with this company for four years now. Thanks for nothing Credit one. You guys are not that great!

How to Securely Activate a Credit One Activate credit one platinum card Card?

Have you just renewed your credit card or opened a new credit card account? If so, then expect Credit One Bank to send you a new credit card. As soon as you receive the new card in the mail, you need to activate it. It is one way of telling Credit One Bank that you actually received and are in possession of the card. You will also be able to prevent the card from falling into the wrong hands, which could lead to you being defrauded.

It is important that you activate a Credit One Bank card within the first 14 days after receiving the card. If you do not do it, you may not be able to use the card to pay bills and make purchases.

If you fail to activate your Credit One Bank card within the first 14 days, your credit card account may be automatically closed.

Activate a Credit One Bank Card

How to Activate a Credit One Bank Card?

A Credit One Bank card is not like any other you may have owned. Credit One Bank advises that you only activate your card by calling the toll free number: 1-877-825-3242. The reason for that is the high likelihood of your privacy being compromised when you do the activation online. To reiterate, the activation must be done online.

Automated Account Information: 1-877-825-3242 (toll-free), 1-702-405-2042 (outside the U.S.) – (24 hours a day / 7 days a week).

The number to call to activate your Credit One Bank card will be provided to you on a sticker attached to the card. If not, it will be printed in some of the paperwork with which the card came.

Since Credit One Bank restricts card activation to be done only through the phone, you shouldn’t call from just any telephone number. Use only the telephone number you provided when you were applying for the card.

Attempting to activate the credit card using a different telephone number may take you longer since you will need to provide additional information. How else will Credit One Bank know you are the one without verifying your identity? Only when they are sure who you are will they activate your card.

During the telephone call, you may either talk to a sales representative or a pre-programmed machine. Either way, there is some information you will have to provide. That includes your date of birth, social security number, CVV number, and credit card number. If you are talking a machine on the opposite side, enter this information using your phone’s keypad.

Is what it is, Does what it sez

I applied for this card, only needed it as a credit building tool and it does just that, one has to keep in mind that if trying to rebuild your credit the key is keep your spending/balance at a minimum and pay balance in full monthly, by maxing out a new card then making the minimum payment each month will not only bite you in the end by getting over your head, it also makes you look sketchy to creditors, had my creditone platinum for a couple months, its already added to my score, heres a headsup when you recieve your card pay the 75.00 fee in full 1st payment date, keep your charges to a minimum each month to where you can navy federal credit union certificate of deposit rates in full each month and the card will work for you.

Worst Choice I've Made

Credit Karma Member

Had this card for over a year. Used it only for emergencies. Paid the balance off over 8 months ago. Got my bill for the start of the second year with a charge of $8.75 annual fee. No big deal. Paid it and went on about life. knowing there wasn't a balance on the card didn't open my statement one month. The following month when I opened it there was a $21 balance and a late fee. Called and spoke with them. It was a monthly fee for an Annual Fee to have the card. Was not clear in the description when I applied for the card. Had to fight to cancel the card after paying it off. Now they have placed a negative comment on my credit report after cancelling the card. WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. Heaven forbid you pay online with a debit card either. They charge you $10 convenience fee and then put that charge onto your card as if you haven't paid it once already. If you don't pay the balance in full you will be paying interest charges for money that you never actually put on your card.

Not the best or worse

Credit Karma Member

I have had this card for almost 2 years, have never had a problem other than not receiving a reported compromised card which depends on the post office not them. They charged me monthly maintenance fees of 10 dollars, when I called to close it, they removed the fees temporarily for 6 months. Their customer service is not bad, it is just that their representatives work from India, they do a good job but I would rather have US customer service agents which is why I give it a 3 stars.

Low grocery stores open in sarnia today credit line of $300. As soon as you activate, you’re charged the $75 fee and that is due in a short time. App isn’t accurate showing current transactions or balances, availability. I paid the $75 fee, used the card for a $200 purchase I had gotten it for and even though my payment has gone through, it says my balance is $200 my availability is $9? Numbers aren’t matching up with transactions history. I’ll keep this open a year since I was forced to pay the fee before even using it and then canceling.

Very God services.
